Nishanta Tangirala
Dr Nishanta Tangirala is a nephrologist and obstetric medicine physician at Lyell McEwin Hospital, Northern Adelaide. She completed her nephrology training at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney and Alice Springs Hospital, Northern Territory before completing a fellowship in obstetric medicine at The Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Adelaide.
Nishanta is a PhD candidate with the University of Adelaide, under the supervision of A/Prof Shilpanjali Jesudason. Her postgraduate research explores the decision-making complexities in women with kidney disease during their reproductive journey and is supported by the Women’s and Children’s Hospital Foundational Scholarship.
Nishanta is a member of the ANZDATA Parenthood Working Group and selected participant in the International Society of Nephrology Obstetric Nephrology Train-The-Trainer Program.
She is currently driving the obstetric nephrology service in Northern Adelaide and aims to improve outcomes and clarity of choice around reproductive care for all women with kidney and chronic disease.
